When we started thinking a couple of weeks ago about what we should do for Ty's 4th birthday, Brent suggested we go to Disneyland, and of course we all agreed! We drove down last Tuesday, got right to sleep, and went to the park the next day to celebrate Ty's birthday. Grandpa and Grandma came with us to the park and then Glenn & Kirsten joined us later that evening for dinner at Downtown Disney. Ty had a great birthday! At one point during the day we were standing by the pond in front of the castle for a picture and then Grandma gave Ty & Ashley three pennies each to make some wishes. Ty immediately threw in his pennies, one at a time, and made his wishes: "I wish I was a pirate!" "I wish I had a chest!" . . . . " I wish I had a key!" We all thought that was pretty funny. He did get his wish! He got to go on a pirate island, do a pirate jig, (see below) and sail on a pirate boat, and we found some cool pirate keys at the gift shop. He already has three pirate chests at home, so we figured he was already well taken care of there.
When asked what their favorite part of the trip was, Brent said, "Watching Ty dance his pirate jig." Kris said, "Eating at the Blue Bayou, Ty's jig, and the Bug's World area of California Adventure." Ashley said, "Seeing all the princesses (in the Fantasmic show)." Ty said, "Jack Sparrow! Taking my picture with him." Sarah couldn't reply, but our guess is she really liked It's A Small World. She was really taking it all in.

This was Sarah's first trip to Disneyland and we've lost count how many times Ty and Ashley have been, but it certainly won't be our last since we decided to get Annual Passes this time for our family. It's a good thing since the wait time for the Finding Nemo submarine ride was 3-4 hours long! We decided it definitely wasn't worth it and we'll try again on another trip when the park is less crowded and the novelty has worn off a bit.
